We need to hear success stories of healing from chronic illness: my interview with Alisha Braswell

Joining me today is Alisha Braswell. I met Alisha through a special group of women on a platform called Red School. It was during the early months after hurricane Helene devastated my home region in the fall of 2024. I had reached out to the group to talk about hurricane Helene and how I could see the importance of cycle awareness after a traumatic event.

Soon after my post, Alisha reached out to me. She told me that she, too, lives in the mountains of North Carolina and was feeling the effects of the hurricane. We messaged about cycle awareness and decided to connect. We quickly had so much to share and enjoyed checking in from time to time about our cycle days and nuances. Having someone to partner with and practice cycle awareness with, has proved to be so important. It’s like having a workout buddy.

Alisha loves to spend as much time outdoors as she can. Alisha loves to hike, run, walk, practice Yoga, and garden.

Her struggle began after dedicating 8 years to working on vegetable farms. She faced 3 challenging years of chronic illness that prevented her from engaging in the activities that she loved.

However, Alisha has now made a full recovery and she is back outside doing all of the things! She engages in life now, with a new appreciation, sense of self, and balance.

Today, she is a mind-body coach and Reiki practitioner, dedicated to helping others on their own paths to healing.

There is a big story here. And we are going to get into the network of variables from the side of cycle awareness and TMS or mind-body healing that Alisha found as tools in her healing journey.
