So helpful! I feel like even when I try to plan around my cycle, it still shows up at a less than desirable time (thank you perimenopause). It can be so hard to be on vacation on Day 1 when you really just want to hibernate and do next to nothing in stead of feeling FOMO because you're supposed to be having "fun" on vacation.
The last 2 vacations i took i was on my period for both of them 😭 Nothing like being excited to go do fun vacation stuff and then just feeling drained and low energy.
Ginny, yessss. For some of us, the inner winter really hits strong with low energy, low verbal skills, and sometimes just overwhelmed with emotions.
There have been times on vacation where I looked at the ocean and just cried. Cried because I was emotional from a hormone crash and the beauty just got me. Lol
I guess it's probably better to be on my period while on vacation, than the cranky week before! Although that does make trip prep and the stress prior to leaving challenging 😬
For me, vacation = periods no matter how I try to plan it. I'm one of those who actually feels pretty good when I have my period but it's the hassle of having to pack menstrual products, extra underwear, and just dealing with blood.
I'll be in the bathroom at the airport trying to clean up and I'll come out and my family will say to me "What took you so long in there?" in front of everyone.
If I have my daughter with me and she has her period too, the two of us fill up the tiny hotel trash can to the brim. I have to remember to bring trash bags from home. So, yeah, it's the hassle.
I'm always disappointed when it shows up before or on vacation.
Loved this episode as I'm now on spring break (staycation with no period ... yet). So timely! So good!

Yes, all of what you said here. Exactly!
Can I just hibernate in my chrysalis and re-emerge after menopause?

Sometimes I get so sappy on my Day 1.
I've also cried looking at the ocean while on vacation 🌊
