I've often wondered what people who live down south experience for their January. Being in a cold weather state my whole life I don't know what a warm January is like. I'm with you January sucks! I liked Sarah's answer though - it makes sense. I've traveled in the colder months but it's like my body refuses to believe that it's in warm weather and will continue its winter behaviors and patterns regardless. I've noticed this more as I've gotten older. Congrats on your first guest! I'd love to see you both team up again.
I love the suggestion to follow the moon cycle for women who have stopped cycling - such wisdom! And what a fantastic interview; congrats on your first guest!
Thank you so much for this! And congrats on your first guest. I never had any cycle awareness, and that makes me super sad. But I have been following the moon for many months now (as you suggest if no longer cycling) and I find it very helpful, particularly with managing energy expectations.
I understand your sentiment about coming into cycle awareness after the fact. I hear it from many women.
That is so great that you are finding some pacing with the moon.
After cycling for decades our bodies really do like to a rhythm. I've picked up on subtle changing phases of women I know in post menopause even when they don't think they have seasons.
I'm hopeful that the emerging generations will embrace cycle awareness practice.
