These articles are fantastic resources. I'm not sure if you've looked into fasting in line with your cycles too but Mindy Pelz speaks alot about this topic and I have found that to be powerful too!

Thank you.

Yes, I have just watched some of her YouTube videos. It's very much in line with what I have researched.

This is a great question. It's very important to track this list of energies: physical, emotional, mental, social, sexual and even spiritual.

As you track these daily energy levels you may notice a pattern emerge.

As you get closer to menopause(1 full year without a cycle) you may notice this pattern gets a but wonky.

You may consider what your energies were like over the few weeks leading up to this polar hemispheric season paradox.

It is possible that the mind or the body will have phantom periods to call out a time to rest and reflect.

We still need to make space for our own winter season each month even if we aren't bleeding.

Easier said than done, right?!

Um, no blood, let's keep going, right?

Our bodies have been in a cyclic season shifts for a long time, so we can best support them by making space for our own Winters. You may find you only need 2 or 3 days of this hibernating season and then off you go into Spring!

Again, tracking your own personal energies could be very beneficial.

I don't have a full scientific answer but maybe this makes some sense for you?

Here's a question for you - my mind thinks it's winter, but my body thinks it's summer. I'm having one of those moments where what I'm feeling in my body does not align with what I feel mentally or emotionally. Before perimenopause, each phase came with how I feel mentally with how I feel physicially, but now I get things like "phantom periods" where I get the symptoms of a period, but not (you've mentioned this before in another post). I'd love to know your thoughts on this.

Day 2! Second day in a row that I've been resting and reading instead of my usual running around doing errands and working. It makes such a difference to be able to slow down and not push through the fatigue for these first days of winter.

Yes, I hear you on that! This last month because I didn't have any pain, I did more through my Winter than usual and I can tell a difference in my mood and anxiety levels that maybe I should have rested more. So now in my Summer I have had to lie down in the afternoon to rest. I'm still learning and practicing. 🫠

I'm still learning about my cycle too which seems ridiculous at age 49! I so wish I had been paying attention to my cycle in my 20s and 30s - no telling how much better I would have felt.

Good job! Some Day 1's are hard to rest. But so necessary.
